Gmail 用户到底有多少？相信这是大家都想知道的问题，自2004年4月1日推出以来，Google就像放风筝一样松松紧紧地控制或发放着邀请机会，用户主动传播，大大提高了Gmail的知名度。同时由于Gmail本身的一些优点如简洁\速度快\信息组织方便等，更有Google品牌的力量更是让gmail的传播如鱼得水。那他到底有多少注册用户呢？Gmail 目前在美国拥有710万用户，位居第四。而Yahoo! Mail 则拥有5200万美国用户，AOL及Hotmail则各自拥有3000万用户。而在全球范围内，Yahoo! Mail及Hotmail则分别以2.26亿及2.22亿用户而继续领先。Gmail 在全球所拥有的用户数量是5200万，继续排在第四。Gmail 会带来大的投资回报的。虽然目前获得了些增长，但是只花费了较小的投入，而且他也认为邮件互联网第一应用，搜索继之后。引用：Sergey Brin thinks that the service would have some "significant financial benefits" one day.
